Job Overview: The Platform Engineering Analyst position is a critical role within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) of the World Bank Group. This unit is dedicated to enabling the organization to fulfill its mission of ending extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff across over 150 locations. The Digital Solutions team, which the analyst will be part of, is responsible for providing modern productivity, collaboration, and endpoint solutions to more than 30,000 users. The analyst will support Microsoft 365 service delivery and automation initiatives, ensuring that seamless collaboration tools are available for the global workforce while driving efficiency through innovative solutions. This role requires a collaborative approach, as the analyst will work closely with team members and end users to ensure successful project completion and service delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Platform Engineering Analyst will report to the ITSDS Team Lead and will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint, as well as email security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security products like Cisco IronPort and EOP ATP. Key responsibilities include managing, administering, and optimizing the Microsoft 365 suite, overseeing site administration and governance, leveraging Microsoft Graph API for platform automation, and contributing to the design and implementation of scalable platform solutions. The analyst will also participate in platform design reviews, collaborate with cross-functional teams to define platform requirements, and design automation solutions using Power Platform and PowerShell. Additionally, the analyst will support the evaluation and integration of new technologies, deliver email security and compliance solutions, work with security teams to implement platform security controls, monitor platform performance, and provide operational support for the M365 platform. Regular assessments of platform effectiveness and incident management through ServiceNow will also be part of the role.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree along with 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 3 years of expertise in Microsoft 365 administration is required, along with a strong background in email security and compliance. Proficiency in programming languages such as PowerShell, Python, and Power Platform is essential. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are necessary, as well as a strong customer focus and the ability to manage client expectations. Desired certifications include Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate, Messaging Administrator Associate, Security Administrator Associate, Microsoft Fundamentals, ITIL V4 Foundation, SAFe Practitioner, Cloud Engineer Certification (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI), and DevOps Engineer Certification (AWS/Azure/GCP/OCI).
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, which provides the foundational knowledge necessary for the technical and administrative responsibilities of the role. Candidates should have a solid understanding of information technology principles, particularly as they relate to cloud services and enterprise software solutions.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in Microsoft 365 administration, with a proven track record of managing and optimizing cloud-based productivity tools. Candidates should have experience in email security and compliance, as well as familiarity with systems administration disciplines such as capacity planning, performance analysis, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments. Experience with automation tools and scripting languages is also highly desirable.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English, which is essential for communication within the organization and with stakeholders. While not required, proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if it enhances communication with diverse teams and clients.
