Job Overview:

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver will be responsible for the following duties: driving UNHCR vehicles for transporting authorized passengers, delivering and collecting documents, and facilitating immigration and customs formalities at airports or other locations. Daily maintenance of assigned vehicles is essential, including checking oil, water, battery, brakes, and tires to ensure roadworthiness. The Driver must perform minor repairs, arrange for major repairs, and keep the vehicle clean. In case of an accident, the Driver is required to follow established procedures and ensure proper documentation for passengers and cargo. The role also involves logging official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, and maintenance activities. The Driver must strictly adhere to security guidance provided by supervisors and actively participate in risk management related to transportation operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a valid driving license and have knowledge of driving rules and regulations. Essential functional skills include basic vehicle mechanical skills and a strong understanding of driving safety protocols. Candidates should demonstrate reliability, responsibility, and punctuality, along with respect for confidentiality and organizational rules. Experience with local road networks and security conditions is highly desirable, as is familiarity with the UN Booking Hub portal for trip planning and vehicle assignment. Armored vehicle driving experience and relevant training are considered advantageous.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of primary education or a high school diploma. Candidates must hold a valid driving license, and any additional certifications related to vehicle operation or maintenance will be beneficial.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of two years of relevant driving experience, preferably with the UN or an international non-governmental organization (INGO). Experience in local road networks and operational routes is essential, along with hands-on experience in vehicle inspections and basic preventive maintenance.

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement for this position is proficiency in English and the UN working language of the duty station, which is Arabic in this case. Candidates should demonstrate an overall ability of at least B2 level in these languages. Knowledge of additional languages is considered a plus but is not mandatory.
