Job Overview:
The position of Driver at the World Bank's Ankara Country Office is crucial for facilitating the transportation needs of the Head of Office and other staff members. The Driver will be responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation for official business, ensuring that all travel is conducted in accordance with the organization's standards and regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance, including conducting daily inspections, maintaining cleanliness, and coordinating necessary repairs. The Driver will also play a supportive role in the administrative functions of the Country Office when not engaged in driving duties, which may include sorting mail, handling courier services, and assisting with office-related tasks. This multifaceted position demands a commitment to safety, punctuality, and effective communication, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver's responsibilities include providing transportation for official business for the Head of Office and other World Bank staff, delivering and picking up official mail and documents, conducting daily pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, and maintaining the vehicle in a clean and tidy condition. The Driver must ensure timely vehicle servicing and repairs, maintain a mileage logbook and timesheet, and attend safe driving training. Additionally, the Driver is responsible for performing daily vehicle security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security checks, ensuring the safe keeping of vehicle accessories, and taking immediate actions required by rules and regulations in case of an accident. When driving services are not needed, the Driver will support administrative functions, assist with incoming shipments and customs clearances, and provide facility assistance as required. The role also includes performing backup duties during the absence of the Administrative Assistant and offering any other relevant support to the Country Office as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to communicate in simple conversational English. A minimum of five years of experience as a professional driver, preferably with international organizations, is required. Applicants should have excellent knowledge of local traffic rules, be road safety conscious, and demonstrate the ability to work under pressure with flexibility in working hours. Good communication skills, polite manners, and the ability to work as a committed team player in a multicultural environment are essential. Candidates must exhibit mature judgment, strong integrity, and sound ethical values, be willing to work overtime when necessary, and maintain confidentiality and discretion. Additionally, candidates must be medically fit for driving and pass a pre-employment medical examination arranged by the office.

Educational Background:

Experience:
