Job Overview:
The position of Superviseur Pharmacie is crucial within the context of HI's emergency response to the Sudanese refugee crisis in Chad. The role involves overseeing the implementation of a shared storage system that supports both international and national humanitarian actors responding to this crisis. The supervisor will report directly to the project manager and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical legislation, maintaining quality assurance systems, and operationalizing medical logistics projects. This position requires a proactive approach to managing the complexities of pharmaceutical storage and distribution in a challenging environment, ensuring that all practices meet the required standards and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical legislation, including the proper functioning of cold chain installations and temperature-controlled storage. Inform humanitarian actors about updates in national legislation regarding the storage and transport of medical products.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and update a quality assurance system, conduct self-inspections, and propose corrective and preventive measures. Develop procedures for temperature-controlled storage and transport, and train logistics teams on best practices. Monitor temperature and humidity, manage traceability, and report on storage practices.
  • Medical Logistics: Implement medical logistics processes in collaboration with the cold chain specialist, develop contingency plans, and support the logistics team in maintaining necessary equipment for storing temperature-sensitive health products.
  • Communication and Representation: Act as the focal point for technical, legal, and scientific inquiries regarding medications and medical devices. Participate in reporting for donors and represent HI's medical logistics activities at health logistics clusters.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a pharmacy degree, with a specialization in humanitarian medical logistics preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a pharmacist and at least 1 year in humanitarian settings is required. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of Good Distribution and Storage Practices for medical products, particularly those requiring cold chain management. Strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a collaborative spirit in multicultural teams are essential.

Educational Background:
A degree in pharmacy is mandatory for this position. Additional qualifications or certifications in humanitarian logistics or related fields would be advantageous and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should possess at least 3 years of professional experience as a pharmacist, with a minimum of 1 year specifically in a humanitarian context. Experience in managing cold chain logistics for medical products is highly desirable, as is a proven ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, given the operational context in Chad. Proficiency in English is considered a valuable asset, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is an international contract for a duration of 3 months, renewable starting from the end of March 2026, based in Adré. The contract includes comprehensive social coverage tailored to individual needs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and repatriation coverage. The salary starts at €2340 gross per month, depending on professional experience, with additional benefits such as a monthly per diem of €817 net, hardship allowance of €500 net, and 25 days of paid leave per year. The position is non-accompanied, and collective housing is provided by HI. If the candidate is a resident of Chad, a local package will be offered.
