Job Overview:
The psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Psychosocial Support (PSS) and Case Management Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting UN Women's project titled 'Restoring and Strengthening the Preventive and Protective Services in response to Violence Against Women affected by the earthquakes in Türkiye (2024-2027)'. This project aims to restore and strengthen the physical infrastructure and technical capacities of violence against women (VAW) service provision through a survivor-centered and rights-based approach. The consultant will provide technical expertise in psychosocial support and case management, focusing on enhancing the quality of services for women and girls at risk of and survivors of violence. The consultant will work closely with the Programme Specialist (EVAWG) and the Deputy Country Director, collaborating with various stakeholders, including the Directorate General on the Status of Women and provincial Ministry of Family and Social Services (MoFSS) units. The consultant's responsibilities will include developing training materials, conducting workshops, and ensuring the quality assurance of psychosocial support tools and resources. The consultant will also facilitate capacity-building activities and provide technical guidance on trauma-informed service delivery and case management approaches.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide Technical Expertise on Psychosocial Support and Case Management: Offer expert guidance on trauma-informed psychosocial support and case management practices, ensuring alignment with national and international standards.
  • Support the Development, Adaptation, and Quality Assurance of PSS Knowledge Products and Tools: Conduct technical reviews of existing documentation templates, assessment forms, and referral systems, recommending revisions to enhance their effectiveness. Develop and adapt training materials, guides, and other resources to support the implementation of psychosocial support services.
  • Facilitate Training, Workshops, and Capacity-Strengthening Activities: Design and deliver capacity-building workshops in collaboration with MoFSS and implementing partners. Conduct monthly online supervision sessions for professionals involved in service delivery. Support the rollout of Training of Trainers (ToT) modules to promote sustainability.
  • Conduct structured reviews of existing PSS and case management practices across various service settings and provide evidence-based recommendations for improvement.
  • Strengthen case management approaches, including risk assessment, safety planning, and documentation standards.
  • Offer technical guidance on addressing trauma symptoms and psychosocial needs arising from experiences of violence.
  • Ensure quality assurance and harmonization of all materials to maintain coherence and consistency in training delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify trends and risks in service delivery and formulate actionable recommendations for improvement.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education and Certification: A Master’s degree in psychology, clinical psychology, social work, counselling, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Advanced academic training in trauma, mental health, gender-based violence, or protection is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in psychosocial support, trauma-informed service provision, case management, or related protection services is required. Experience working with government institutions and in training and capacity-building is essential. Demonstrated experience providing psychosocial support in high-stress, emergency, or humanitarian settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with international PSS/GBV standards is also desirable.
  • Languages: Fluency in English and Turkish is required, ensuring effective communication with diverse stakeholders and beneficiaries.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Master’s degree in psychology, clinical psychology, social work, counselling, or a related field. A first-level university degree may be accepted in combination with additional qualifying experience. Advanced academic training in trauma, mental health, or gender-based violence is considered a strong asset, enhancing the consultant's ability to address complex issues related to psychosocial support and case management.

Experience:
The consultant must have at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in psychosocial support, trauma-informed service provision, case management, or related protection services. Experience working with government institutions is essential, as is experience in training and capacity-building. Demonstrated experience providing psychosocial support in high-stress, emergency, or humanitarian settings is highly desirable, as well as familiarity with international standards and guidelines related to psychosocial support and gender-based violence.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Turkish is mandatory for this position, enabling effective communication with stakeholders and beneficiaries. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the consultant's ability to engage with diverse populations and contexts.

  • Payments will be made monthly based on the provision of timesheets and deliverables approved by the UN Women Programme Specialist. The consultant is responsible for any taxes due on the gross fees received from UN Women.
