Duties and Responsibilities: The Driver of the Armored Vehicle will have several key responsibilities, including:
Providing reliable and safe driving services for UNFPA staff, experts on missions, and official visitors.
Meeting officials and visitors at the airport and assisting with visa and customs formalities as needed.
Ensuring that all passengers wear seat belts and that all security regulations are followed according to MOSS policy.
Staying informed about traffic, road conditions, and safety regulations to ensure timely arrivals for meetings and events.
Maintaining the assigned vehicle by keeping accurate daily logs, suggesting maintenance needs, and ensuring compliance with vehicle maintenance plans.
Performing day-to-day maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, oil changes, and ensuring the vehicle is clean and in good running condition.
Ensuring the availability of necessary documents and supplies in the vehicle, such as insurance, registration, and first aid kits.
Following UNFPA rules and regulations in the event of an accident and performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a valid driving license issued by the competent government authority and have a thorough knowledge of local driving rules and regulations. A minimum of 2 years of work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system is required, along with a proven safe driving record. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of chauffeur protocol, local roads, and defensive driving skills. Skills in minor vehicle repairs are essential, and a training certificate in Armored Vehicle driving is desirable.
