Job Overview: The Online Volunteer (OV) position is part of UNV Pakistan's initiative to enhance volunteerism promotion and mobilization efforts. The primary objective of this assignment is to create a readily available pool of visual content that pertains to the UNV offer. This content will facilitate rapid sharing with other UN agencies and potential volunteer partners, thereby informing them about UN volunteer modalities and associated guidelines. The OV will directly contribute to Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by developing content that will be utilized in partnership meetings and initiatives with other UN agencies and key stakeholders. The OV will work under the direct supervision of the CoordinationSupport Assistant at UNV Pakistan, focusing on the development of flowcharts and infographics based on shared English content, which will cover various aspects of the UN Volunteer modality, including medical coverage, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and recruitment.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Online Volunteer will be responsible for the following duties:
Develop flowcharts and infographics based on provided English content, ensuring that the designs align with UNV branding guidelines.
Capture the essence and messaging of the shared content effectively, presenting relevant information in a concise and easily referenceable manner.
Collaborate with the Coordination Support Assistant to receive guidance and feedback throughout the design process.
Ensure that all designs are original and do not infringe on any third-party rights.
Provide a cloud storage link to a portfolio showcasing previous graphic design work, as only candidates with a portfolio will be considered.
Share source files for all designed content to enable future editing by UNV as needed.
Adhere to the guidelines and expectations set forth by UNV during the assignment.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or equivalent tools.
Strong understanding of branding and visual communication principles.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Familiarity with UNV's mission and objectives is an advantage.
Educational Background: A background in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have relevant educational qualifications that demonstrate their expertise in design principles and practices.
Experience: Candidates should have prior experience in graphic design, ideally with a focus on creating infographics and visual content for organizations. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is a plus, as it demonstrates an understanding of the context in which UNV operates.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, as all content will be provided in English. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset but is not required for this position.
Additional Notes: This is a remote position, and Online Volunteers are not contracted or affiliated with UNV, meaning they are not considered UN Volunteers, employees, or agents of UNV or the UN. The selected OV will not be hosted at any duty station or field office by the United Nations.
