Job Overview: The position of Online VolunteerInterpreter is crucial for facilitating effective communication during the induction session for newly elected members of the Committee Against Torture (CAT). This role involves providing simultaneous interpretation services from French to English and vice versa during the online event scheduled for 31 March 2026, from 14:00 to 17:30 (UTC+1). Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide simultaneous interpretation from French to English and English to French during the online induction session for CAT members.

Prepare for the session by reviewing relevant materials and understanding the context of the discussions.
Collaborate with other interpreters to ensure a seamless interpretation experience.
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality throughout the event.

Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the interpretation process if necessary.
Required Qualifications:
Fluency in both French and English, with a strong command of grammar, vocabulary, and idiomatic expressions.
Previous experience in interpretation, particularly in a simultaneous setting, is highly desirable.
Familiarity with the UN's work and the specific context of the Committee Against Torture is an advantage.
