Job Overview: The Senior Supply ChainCoordinator (Snr SCC) will be a pivotal figure in the leadership and operational coordination of supply chain activities within the IRC's West Sudan program. This role is essential for ensuring that the supply chain operations are efficient and effective, directly impacting the success of humanitarian programs in the region. The Snr SCC will oversee the operations teams, including supply chain staff, and will work closely with the Finance department to manage the financial health of the mission. The position requires strong collaboration with various departments, including HR and Safety & security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security, to ensure the wellbeing and safety of staff. The Snr SCC will also be responsible for executing the mission's workplans in a timely manner and within budget, making this role critical for the overall success of the IRC's interventions in West Sudan.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Supply Chain Coordinator will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities that include:
Supply Chain Planning: Develop and implement supply chain plans that support program implementation, including procurement, warehousing, transport, staffing, distribution, and training plans.
Procurement Management: Own and manage procurement strategies, ensuring compliance with IRC and donor policies, and timely execution of procurement contracts.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory and warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to IRC inventory policies and maintaining accurate records.
Assets Management: Manage the procurement, maintenance, and record-keeping of all program assets and equipment, ensuring compliance with IRC policies.
Vehicles Management: Coordinate fleet and transportation activities, ensuring adherence to IRC vehicle policies and maintaining vehicle condition.
Compliance and Ethics: Identify compliance risks in supply chain processes and implement strong procurement controls.
Learning and Development: Oversee training initiatives for supply chain staff and assess training needs.
Collaboration: Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination across various teams and partners.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree and have at least 6 years of progressive experience in supply chain management or a related field. They should demonstrate a successful track record as a supply chain leader across various disciplines, including planning, procurement, and logistics. Knowledge and experience in medical logistics, procurement, storage, transport, and distribution of pharmaceuticals are essential. Candidates should also have a broad understanding of supply chain strategies, market analysis techniques, and asset management. Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills are necessary, along with the ability to work effectively in a matrixed structure and manage remote teams. Financial management and budgeting skills are also required, as well as excellent training and coaching abilities.
Educational Background: An advanced degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates with equivalent education and experience may also be considered. The educational background should provide a solid foundation in supply chain principles and practices, as well as an understanding of humanitarian operations and the unique challenges faced in crisis situations.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in supply chain management or a related field. Candidates should have demonstrated success in leadership roles within supply chain operations, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts. Experience in managing supply chains in complex environments, such as conflict zones or areas with significant logistical challenges, is highly desirable. Proven experience in remote management and the ability to work effectively across different cultures and organizational units are also important.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, with spoken proficiency in Arabic considered a valuable asset. The ability to communicate effectively in both languages will enhance collaboration with local teams and stakeholders, ensuring that supply chain operations are conducted smoothly and efficiently.
