Job Overview:
The UN–IFI Partnership Analyst Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Resident Coordinator Offices (RCOs) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This internship is designed to provide analytical, coordination, and research support to enhance strategic partnerships between the United Nations system and international and regional financial institutions. The intern will work closely with the UN–IFI Partnership Adviser and will be involved in various activities aimed at strengthening the UN's collective impact in delivering the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs. The position offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the workings of the UN and its partnerships with financial institutions, while also contributing to significant initiatives such as the Humanitarian–Development–Peace (HDP) Nexus. The intern will be expected to engage in data collection, analysis, and the preparation of materials that support the UN's strategic objectives in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: collecting and analyzing information related to UN–IFI cooperation; supporting the analysis of strategic frameworks such as the UNSDCF, World Bank CPF, and AfDB Country Strategy; preparing analytical notes, briefing materials, and presentations; assisting in the preparation of meetings and follow-up on partnerships; contributing to activities related to the Humanitarian–Development–Peace (HDP) Nexus; supporting data collection and visualization efforts; integrating gender and youth dimensions across analytical and coordination activities; contributing to knowledge management efforts, including documenting lessons learned and good practices; and supporting capacity-building activities, including the development of training materials and concept notes.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements at the time of application: be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or have graduated with a Bachelor's degree, Master's, PhD, or equivalent. Preferred areas of study include social science, economics, law, international cooperation, and public administration. While professional work experience is not required, a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary. Applicants should also have a good understanding of project cycle management, including methodologies such as problem tree and solution tree, and familiarity with knowledge management tools and approaches.

Educational Background:
Candidates should be enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. programme. The educational background should ideally be in fields related to social sciences, economics, law, international cooperation, or public administration. This educational foundation will provide the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively contribute to the tasks and responsibilities of the internship.

Experience:
While prior professional work experience is not a requirement for this internship, any relevant experience in an association, NGO, or international organization will be considered an asset. The internship is designed for students or recent graduates who are looking to gain practical experience in the field of international development and cooperation, particularly in relation to the UN's work with financial institutions.

Languages:
Fluency in French is required for this internship, as it is one of the working languages of the United Nations. Knowledge of English is desirable but not mandatory. The ability to communicate effectively in both languages will enhance the intern's capacity to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the UN's initiatives in the DRC.

Additional Notes:
The internship is hybrid/remote and is expected to last for a duration of 6 months. Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations, and all costs related to travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the DRC may need to obtain the appropriate visa and work authorization. It is important for successful candidates to discuss their specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer. Additionally, the United Nations does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
