Job Overview:
The position of Asistente Técnico en Alojamiento e Infraestructura / Agua, Saneamiento e Higiene is crucial for the implementation of humanitarian services related to housing and infrastructure, as well as water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). The role aims to ensure that affected individuals have access to adequate housing solutions, educational facilities, and various temporary or permanent community infrastructure solutions. The Asistente Técnico will support technical activities of projects that enhance health conditions, ensure access to safe water and sanitation, and promote healthy hygiene practices. This position requires a commitment to inclusivity and accountability, ensuring that humanitarian assistance is accessible to all affected populations while promoting their active participation in the process. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Asistente Técnico will be responsible for ensuring adherence to NRC's policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines. Key responsibilities include supporting the implementation of project portfolios according to action plans, organizing and executing tasks based on priorities and standards, and maintaining knowledge in the area of specialization to provide effective technical assistance. The role involves preparing status reports for management, ensuring proper documentation, and promoting ideas to strengthen the functions of the role. Specific duties include delivering efficient and timely housing and infrastructure services, conducting needs assessments, promoting positive behavioral changes related to housing and hygiene, facilitating information sessions and workshops, and incorporating sociocultural adaptations in project designs. The Asistente Técnico will also monitor financial expenditures, request necessary materials, ensure quality control, and participate in community-based projects while supporting monitoring and documentation of project activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a professional background in architecture, civil engineering, environmental engineering, hydraulics, or related technical fields. A specialization in project coordination or management related to construction, including WASH installations, is desirable. Candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience as a Technical Assistant in humanitarian contexts, with knowledge and experience in relevant technical fields. Familiarity with national and international humanitarian standards, participatory methodologies, and community engagement techniques is essential. Proficiency in MS Office and CAD software is also required, along with basic knowledge of English.

Educational Background:
A relevant degree in architecture, civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related technical field is required. Additional qualifications or certifications in project management or WASH-related fields are advantageous. Continuous professional development through training in humanitarian response and project implementation is encouraged.

Experience:
A minimum of one year of professional experience in implementing housing, educational facilities, or community infrastructure projects is preferred. Experience working with government entities, UN agencies, or other humanitarian organizations in shelter and WASH sectors is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record of responsibilities related to the position and experience in complex and changing contexts.

Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish is mandatory. Basic knowledge of English is desirable, as it may facilitate communication with international teams and stakeholders.
