Job Description
Job Posting Organization:
Cámara Junior Internacional JCI Bogotá is an organization dedicated to providing development opportunities that prepare young people to create positive changes. Established with a vision to be the leading global network of active young citizens, JCI Bogotá operates in over 100 countries. The organization is driven by values that emphasize faith in God, brotherhood transcending national sovereignty, economic justice through free enterprise, governance by laws rather than individuals, the intrinsic value of human personality, and the commitment to serve humanity as the highest calling.

Job Overview:
The position involves volunteering as a creative designer to support the development of the official logo for 'La Merca x JCI Bogotá', a social merchandising brand. This initiative is led by young volunteer leaders aiming to promote Colombian symbolic products through merchandising, including clothing, accessories, and cultural items. A portion of the generated resources will be allocated to fund social projects led by youth. The volunteer will collaborate with the team to create a coherent visual identity that reflects pride in Colombian culture, social impact, youth leadership, and international projection, while harmoniously co-branding with La Merca.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The volunteer will be responsible for several key activities, including:
  • Developing a conceptual proposal for the brand with 1-2 creative routes.
  • Designing the logo and its various versions, including horizontal, vertical, and monochromatic adaptations.
  • Suggesting a color palette that aligns with the brand identity.
  • Recommending typography that complements the logo design.
  • Creating a basic brand usage manual (brand guidelines) to ensure consistent application of the brand identity.
  • Producing mockups applied to merchandising items such as t-shirts, tote bags, stickers, and other products.
  • Delivering all designs in editable formats (AI, SVG, or similar) as well as PNG files for practical use.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess creativity and a strong understanding of design principles. Familiarity with branding and logo design is essential. The ability to work collaboratively in a remote setting and communicate effectively with the team is crucial. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator or similar tools is required to create high-quality designs and mockups.

Educational Background:
While specific educational qualifications are not explicitly stated, a background in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field would be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a portfolio showcasing previous design work, particularly in logo creation and branding.

Experience:
Experience in graphic design, particularly in logo design and branding projects, is preferred. Previous volunteer experience or involvement in social projects may also be beneficial, as it aligns with the mission of JCI Bogotá to foster community impact through youth-led initiatives.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the primary communication will be in this language. Proficiency in English or other languages would be considered a plus, especially for international outreach and collaboration.

Additional Notes:
This is a remote volunteer position, allowing for flexibility in working hours. The role involves short feedback meetings with the JCI Bogotá team to ensure alignment and progress on the project. The volunteer's contributions will play a significant role in launching the official identity of the social entrepreneurship initiative and initiating responsible merchandising with a community purpose.
