Job Overview:
The Coordination Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the Policy, Programme and Intergovernmental Division (PPID) of UN Women. This position is designed to enhance the division's coordination, tasking, and information flow, ensuring that leadership decision-making is well-supported and timely. The consultant will be responsible for managing information related to key intergovernmental processes, particularly the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF). The role requires a proactive approach to maintaining up-to-date trackers of approved side events and related documentation, liaising with internal teams for timely submissions, and organizing information for easy access. The consultant will also act as a liaison with scheduling teams, maintain internal coordination trackers, and support leadership coordination and governance processes. This position is vital for ensuring that the division meets its strategic goals and effectively engages in intergovernmental processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties will include providing division-wide coordination support, acting as the main point of contact for tasking and decision-making across PPID. Responsibilities will involve supporting engagement in major intergovernmental processes, maintaining information related to CSW, and ensuring timely submission of materials. The consultant will also be responsible for maintaining internal coordination trackers, conducting initial screenings of briefing materials, and supporting the preparation of agendas and documentation for leadership meetings. Additionally, the consultant will contribute to communication efforts by drafting and editing external-facing materials, supporting internal communication, and documenting lessons learned to enhance knowledge management within the division. The role requires a strong focus on operational support, ensuring that all processes are efficient and effective.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in fields such as Administration, International Relations, Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Social Sciences, or a related area. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. Certification in project or programme management is considered an asset. The role demands strong planning, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, as well as a solid understanding of gender equality issues and the UN system.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in relevant fields such as Administration, International Relations, or Social Sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted. Candidates with certifications in project or programme management will have an advantage.

Experience:
The position requires at least one year of experience in coordination, programme support, or analytical roles within international organizations. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in supporting complex, multi-stakeholder processes, particularly in the context of gender equality and women's empowerment. Experience in intergovernmental processes and high-level engagements is essential, including the preparation of background materials and coordination of inputs.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in other UN languages is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse international environment.
