Job Overview: The position of Assistant(e) à la Recherche, Analyse et Suivi is crucial for the effective implementation of resilience activities and for providing timely responses to existing and future needs. The selected candidate will be part of the RAM section in N'Djamena and will conduct regular field missions to monitor WFP activities. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide specialized technical support, ensuring data quality and analysis for political and programmatic activities that effectively address food assistance needs. The role requires close collaboration with WFP staff in N'Djamena and its 13 sub-offices across the provinces, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and communication in achieving the organization's goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Assistant(e) à la Recherche, Analyse et Suivi will coordinate and execute monitoring and evaluation activities within a specific coverage area of WFP projects and programs, providing reports to support the effective implementation of food assistance. Key responsibilities include preparing a series of reports and data analyses, highlighting trends to ensure compliance with WFP standards and quality control. The role involves supporting unit leaders and colleagues in identifying areas for program improvement, managing data collection and reporting on project impacts, and summarizing project data in collaboration with sub-office staff. The assistant will also verify and review monthly distribution reports from cooperating partners, provide training on operational practices, and ensure timely data entry and verification in WFP databases. Additional responsibilities include proposing improvements to monitoring and evaluation processes, supporting targeting and assessment systems, conducting field visits, and preparing reports with programmatic recommendations. The assistant will also serve as a point of contact for operational issues and perform other related tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess a higher university degree in fields such as economics, food security, statistics, economic development, performance management, monitoring & evaluation, geography, data science, public health/nutrition, or other related areas. A strong technical background in monitoring using logical frameworks is essential, along with excellent oral and written communication skills in French. Knowledge of English is also desirable, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate in a multicultural environment.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a completed secondary education and a higher university degree in relevant fields such as economics, food security, statistics, development economics, performance management, monitoring & evaluation, geography, data science, public health/nutrition, or other related disciplines. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of food assistance programs and the analytical skills necessary for effective monitoring and evaluation.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of work experience in monitoring and evaluation of resilience projects and programs or climate change initiatives. Familiarity with WFP's operational frameworks and methodologies will be advantageous.
