Job Overview:
The Education Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the Refugee Education Strategy 2030, which aligns with the Global Compact on Refugees. This position involves working under the supervision of the Education Officer and the Associate Education Officer to manage and coordinate educational programs for refugees. The Education Associate will be responsible for preparing scholarship applications, developing partnerships with universities, and ensuring the successful placement and monitoring of scholarship recipients. The role also includes organizing workshops to prepare students for the job market and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance educational access and quality for refugees.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Education Associate will have a wide range of responsibilities, including: preparing calls for scholarship applications and coordinating with field offices; analyzing applications and participating in the selection of scholarship recipients; developing partnerships with universities and vocational schools; coordinating the follow-up of 3000 scholarship recipients; negotiating student enrollments in universities; organizing scholarship distributions and verifying recipient profiles; creating informative content for students; collaborating with colleagues to analyze scholarship opportunities; organizing job preparation workshops; and supporting the Associate Education Officer in managing the scholarship program. Additionally, the Education Associate will monitor educational activities, assess needs, and ensure compliance with policies related to education and refugee protection.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in education, social work, or international development. A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience is required, particularly in higher education programs and scholarship management. Essential competencies include project management, experience working with local universities, and a strong background in refugee education. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and possess excellent communication skills in both French and Arabic, along with proficiency in Microsoft applications. Knowledge of UNHCR policies and experience in child protection are desirable.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, or a related field is required. Candidates with higher qualifications may be considered favorably. Relevant certifications in education or social sciences are also beneficial.

Experience:
The position requires at least three years of relevant experience in education programs, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts. Experience in implementing and coordinating educational programs, especially for refugees, is essential. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with government entities and educational institutions.

Languages:
Fluency in French and Arabic is mandatory, with strong writing and communication skills in both languages. Knowledge of English is considered an asset, particularly for international collaboration.
