Job Overview:
The Security Guard position at the FAO Representation in Indonesia is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of personnel, visitors, assets, and premises. The role involves providing reliable and effective security services, which include access control, monitoring security systems, and emergency preparedness and response. The Security Guard will work under the supervision of the FAO Representative and in coordination with the Assistant FAO Representative (Administration). This position is essential for maintaining compliance with FAO security standards and the recommendations of the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS). The Security Guard will be responsible for creating a secure environment that allows FAO personnel to focus on their mission of combating hunger and promoting sustainable agriculture.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Security Guard will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities that include: providing security services for all program assets and personnel within the FAO Representation; checking all bags and packages entering and exiting the office; maintaining a register for staff attendance; recording all visitors in a logbook; assisting visitors with the visitor form and directing or escorting them to designated staff; maintaining a dispatch/receiving mail book for all incoming and outgoing equipment; reporting any security breaches to the Agency Security Focal Point immediately; ensuring that all security devices, such as emergency exit signs, fire extinguishers, metal detectors, hydrants, and alarm lights, are functional; coordinating with the Information and Technology Assistant to ensure that CCTV and electronic attendance systems are operational; ensuring that first aid kits are stocked and functional; making sure that all personnel understand the emergency evacuation plan; directing staff to emergency exits during emergencies; managing office keys securely; following up on UNDSS security recommendations; and ensuring that all doors are locked at the end of the day and opened in the morning.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a completed high school diploma and have at least five years of progressive experience in security services. A working knowledge of English and fluency in Bahasa Indonesia are essential. Candidates must be nationals of Indonesia. Additionally, candidates should have training in fire prevention and the use of various fire extinguishers, basic training in self-defense and emergency response, and basic first aid certification. Knowledge of physical security systems, alarm systems, and emergency generators is also required. Candidates must be physically fit, not dependent on alcohol or prohibited substances, and able to perform physical tasks associated with guard duties. Reliability, professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively are critical attributes for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a completed high school diploma. Higher educational qualifications must be obtained from institutions accredited or recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED), which is maintained by the International Association of Universities (IAU) and UNESCO. This ensures that the educational qualifications are valid and recognized internationally, which is important for the integrity of the recruitment process.

Experience:
The position requires at least five years of progressive experience in security services. This experience should encompass various aspects of security management, including access control, emergency response, and the management of security systems. Candidates should demonstrate a history of reliability and professionalism in their previous roles, showcasing their ability to handle security-related tasks effectively and efficiently.

Languages:
Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in the workplace. A working knowledge of English is also required, as it is essential for understanding FAO policies, procedures, and communication with international staff and visitors. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory for this position.
