Job Overview:
The National Project Coordinator will be based in the FAO Country Office in Jordan and will play a crucial role in leading the planning, coordination, and implementation of the Joint Programme aimed at transforming Jordan’s agrifood systems. This position requires a focus on enhancing productivity and competitiveness among producers by establishing and strengthening rural alliances, integrating climate-smart agriculture technologies, and expanding consumer access to safe and nutritious locally produced food. The coordinator will mobilize partnerships, operationalize blended finance mechanisms, and ensure compliance with environmental and fiduciary standards while mainstreaming gender equality and social inclusion across all project interventions. The role also involves overseeing the preparation of the Project Implementation Manual and establishing robust monitoring and reporting systems to ensure timely and accountable project delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The National Project Coordinator will be responsible for overall coordination, management, and supervision of project implementation, ensuring timely delivery of outputs and effective performance of all project staff, consultants, and service providers. Key responsibilities include leading the preparation and validation of the Project Implementation Manual, designing and implementing awareness-raising campaigns, coordinating the establishment and operationalization of Rural Alliances, ensuring effective monitoring and follow-up of supported Rural Alliances, facilitating coordination with key stakeholders, ensuring compliance with FAO policies, and preparing high-quality technical progress reports and financial updates. The coordinator will also be tasked with ensuring that all project activities align with FAO's standards and objectives, particularly in terms of gender equality and environmental safeguards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in sustainable development, economics, business, social studies, or related fields. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, particularly in food security, climate action, and climate adaptation settings, is required. Additionally, candidates should have experience in value chain, supply chain, market systems, analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, and financing models. Proficiency in both English and Arabic is mandatory, as effective communication with diverse stakeholders is essential for this role.

Educational Background:
The position requires an advanced degree in a relevant field such as sustainable development, economics, business, or social studies. Candidates must ensure that their educational qualifications are recognized by the World Higher Education Database (WHED), as FAO only considers degrees from accredited institutions listed in this database.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, particularly in areas related to food security, climate action, and climate adaptation. Experience in managing projects that involve value chains, supply chains, and market systems is essential, as is familiarity with financial analysis and financing models. The ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder environment is crucial for success in this role.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Arabic is required for this position. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively in both languages, as the role involves liaising with various stakeholders and presenting ideas clearly. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
