Job Overview:
The Logistics Officer / Maternity coverage position is crucial for the day-to-day implementation of logistics functions within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Officer will be responsible for a variety of duties, including:
  • Procurement: Planning, initiating, and managing procurement processes in line with approved plans and budgets; preparing and processing purchase requisitions, RFQs, ITBs, RFPs, bid analysis, purchase orders, and contracts; ensuring compliance with procurement practices; conducting market assessments; liaising with suppliers for timely delivery; maintaining procurement documentation; and supporting contract management.
  • Fleet Management: Overseeing daily fleet operations for efficient vehicle use; ensuring proper allocation and scheduling of vehicles; monitoring vehicle logbooks, fuel consumption, and maintenance records; coordinating preventive maintenance and repairs; ensuring valid insurance and documentation; promoting safe driving practices; and supporting driver supervision and training.
  • Store Management: Handling goods receipts and storage; maintaining accurate record-keeping; ensuring cleanliness and organization of storage areas; reporting stock balance updates; conducting stock reconciliations; reporting obsolete or damaged items; and conducting inventory control as per policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or related disciplines. Candidates should have at least 3 years of work experience as a Logistic Assistant or in a similar role. Basic experience in a humanitarian or recovery context is essential, along with documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of logistics processes and practices, particularly in complex and volatile contexts.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of logistics operations and supply chain management, which are critical for the successful execution of the responsibilities associated with this position.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as a Logistic Assistant or in a similar role.
