Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position is designed to support the World Health Organization's mission of strengthening data-driven decision-making through automation and applied artificial intelligence. The role emphasizes the importance of data automation and integration, aiming to improve the efficiency and reliability of health data processing. Volunteers will engage in analytics and visualization efforts to support evidence-based decision-making, utilizing advanced analytics and R-based analysis to create interactive dashboards. The position also focuses on digital innovation, applying AI-driven solutions to enhance data interpretation and operational workflows. The ultimate goal is to reduce manual data handling, improve the timeliness and consistency of analytical outputs, and contribute to scalable data solutions that align with WHO standards and best practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for designing, automating, and enhancing data pipelines and analytical workflows. Key duties include developing automated data pipelines for the ingestion, transformation, and validation of structured and semi-structured datasets. The volunteer will create analytical scripts and workflows in R to support both routine and ad hoc analysis. Additionally, the role involves developing interactive dashboards using tools like Power BI for monitoring, reporting, and decision support. The candidate will also work on AI-enabled applications or workflows, such as Python-based models and Slack-integrated AI tools, to enhance data analysis and automate routine tasks. Technical documentation and user guidance will be essential to ensure sustainability and knowledge transfer within the organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong technical skills in data automation, R programming, and dashboard development. Experience with Python-based AI tools is highly desirable, as is familiarity with collaboration platforms such as Slack. The ability to work collaboratively with public health professionals, epidemiologists, data analysts, and IT specialists is crucial. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of data integration and analytics, as well as the capacity to translate analytical needs into automated solutions.

Educational Background:
A background in data science, public health, computer science, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have relevant coursework or training in data analysis, programming, and AI applications. A degree or certification in these areas will be beneficial for applicants.

Experience:
