Job Overview: The Driver position at UN Women is crucial for ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of the UN Women Regional Director, other UN officials, and visitors. This role requires a high level of discretion, integrity, and responsibility, as the driver will be responsible for adhering to security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security protocols and providing excellent service to a diverse range of individuals. The driver will also be expected to assist with administrative tasks and logistical support as needed, demonstrating a client-oriented approach and the ability to work effectively with people from various cultural backgrounds. The position involves not only driving but also maintaining the vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition, and managing necessary documentation and supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide reliable and secure driving services for the transport of UN Women officials and visitors, including facilitating VIP missions and handling airport logistics.
Ensure proper use of the vehicle, including maintaining logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and servicing.
Conduct day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and good working condition, and performing minor repairs as needed.
Maintain all required documents and supplies in the vehicle, including insurance and first aid kits.
Provide general administrative and logistical support, including filing, photocopying, and assisting with office supplies management.
Support the Security focal point in logistical arrangements and maintaining security checklists.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess a valid driver’s license. A minimum of three years of relevant driving experience in an international organization, embassy, or UN system is required, along with a safe driving record. Experience in providing administrative support is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate excellent driving skills, knowledge of driving regulations, and the ability to perform minor vehicle repairs.
Educational Background: Completion of secondary education is required for this position. A valid driver’s license is also mandatory to ensure compliance with driving regulations and safety standards.
Experience: The position requires at least three years of relevant experience as a driver, preferably within an international organization, embassy, or UN system. A proven safe driving record is essential, and experience in providing administrative support to an office will be viewed favorably.
Languages: Working knowledge of English is required, along with fluency in Turkish. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable and may enhance a candidate's profile.
