Job Overview: The Programme CoordinationAnalyst position is integral to the implementation of the ECARO Push Forward Strategy and the Denmark-funded regional programme aimed at enhancing women's leadership and participation in governance and peacebuilding. The incumbent will serve as the focal point for the Push Forward Strategy, coordinating its implementation across the Regional Office and Country Offices. This role involves analyzing trends related to gender equality, identifying strategic opportunities, and ensuring alignment with corporate priorities. The analyst will also contribute to building partnerships, resource mobilization, and knowledge management, supporting the overall mission of UN Women to promote gender equality and women's rights in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technically contribute to the implementation and development of the ECARO Push Forward Strategy, ensuring coherence and strategic alignment across programmes.
Serve as the focal point for the strategy, coordinating its implementation and providing guidance across the Regional Office and Country Offices.
Analyze trends and implementation needs related to gender equality backlash, identifying strategic opportunities for further development of the strategy.
Maintain the ECARO Push Forward Task Force, facilitating coordination with various stakeholders to ensure coherent implementation.
Monitor progress of activities, providing substantive inputs for donor and UN Women reports.
Build partnerships and resource mobilization strategies, preparing documentation and participating in donor meetings.
Support knowledge management by preparing analytical evidence, policy briefs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Potentially supervise interns and consultants as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, management, social sciences, or related fields. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP® is an added advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and research skills, excellent writing and knowledge management abilities, and a good understanding of gender equality and women's rights issues.
Educational Background: A Master's degree or equivalent in relevant fields is required for this position. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be considered. A project/programme management certification is desirable and would enhance a candidate's profile.
Experience: At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience at the national or international level in managing complex programme interventions is required. Experience in gender equality, women's rights, and related fields is essential. Candidates should have experience coordinating with government agencies and donors, as well as in monitoring and evaluating development programmes. Proficiency in using office software and web-based management systems is also required.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish is desirable and would be beneficial for the role.
