Job Overview: The Field Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of the field base in Dnipro, Ukraine. This role involves working under the supervision of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and closely coordinating with the Deputy Country Director for Programs, Security Coordinator, and Support Coordinators. The Field Coordinator is tasked with implementing the global strategy for the area of intervention, ensuring the quality of financial, HR, and logistic procedures, and promoting the integration of SI's core policies. Additionally, the Field Coordinator represents SI in local forums and coordination groups and manages a team that includes Logistics and Administration managers, a Security assistant, and a Deputy Field Coordinator for programs. The position requires a strong focus on security management and context analysis of the operational area, especially given the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Field Coordinator's duties include:
Overall management of the field base, ensuring effective operations across all departments.
Directly managing the Logistics and Administration managers, Security assistant, and Deputy Field Coordinator for programs.
Developing and implementing strategies for financial, HR, and logistic management.
Representing SI in local coordination groups and forums to advocate for the organization's mission and objectives.
Conducting security management and context analysis to adapt operations to the volatile environment.
Addressing HR challenges, including the impact of conscription and mental health issues among staff.
Ensuring effective internal and external communication.
Promoting the well-being of employees in a high-stress environment. 1
Pushing forward the partnerships strategy to enhance SI's impact.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a humanitarian field and have 3 to 4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector. Additionally, candidates should have 0 to 2 years of experience in a similar position, demonstrating relevant experience in field coordination and HR management, as well as security management in volatile environments. Strong strategic thinking skills are essential, along with the ability to handle pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in a relevant humanitarian field is required for this position. This educational background should provide the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage humanitarian operations and coordinate with various stakeholders in challenging environments.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have 3 to 4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a focus on field coordination roles. While prior experience in a similar position is preferred, candidates with relevant experience in humanitarian operations and management will also be considered. The ability to navigate complex security situations and manage diverse teams is crucial.
Languages: Fluency in English at a minimum C1 level is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of Ukrainian and/or Russian is considered a plus, as it would facilitate communication with local staff and communities, enhancing the effectiveness of the Field Coordinator's role in the region.
Additional Notes: This position is a salaried role with a starting gross monthly salary of EUR 3080, which includes a base salary of EUR 2800 and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 700 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's country of origin and the place of assignment.
