Job Overview:
The Partnership Officer will work under the guidance of the Partnership Coordinator and will be responsible for supporting and strengthening NRC’s partnerships in the east of Ukraine. This role requires collaboration with various NRC teams, including finance, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), programs, and logistics. The Partnership Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring that partners adhere to compliance standards and receive the necessary technical support. The position demands a proactive attitude and a diverse skill set, particularly in partnership programming, to effectively manage and enhance NRC's partnerships.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Partnership Officer will have a range of duties and responsibilities, including:
  • Ensuring adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines, and donor requirements.
  • Supporting partners in compliance with NRC Project Implementation Agreements and other relevant standards.
  • Identifying capacity development needs of partners and facilitating necessary technical support.
  • Supporting the use of the NRC Project Cycle Management (PCM) framework in partnership activities.
  • Overseeing financial aspects of partnerships and reporting on indicators, reach, and data quality.
  • Preparing and submitting periodic reports to the line manager.
  • Facilitating communication and coordination among partners.
  • Identifying and flagging bottlenecks in processes and suggesting improvements.
  • Supporting the development of quality partner proposals and participating in building relationships with potential partners. 1
  • Assisting in organizational assessments and vetting of potential partners. 1
  • Drafting project implementation agreements and preparing documentation for partnership meetings. 1
  • Maintaining partnership trackers and monitoring information related to partner projects. 1
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Partnership Officer position should possess the following qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Social Sciences, International Development, Economics, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with NGOs or international organizations, particularly in partnerships and civil society strengthening.
  • A good understanding of the Ukrainian civil society landscape is considered an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 applications, especially Excel, and good data management skills.
  • Knowledge of project cycle management is essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Social Sciences, International Development, or Economics. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of partnership management and the operational requirements of working with NGOs and international organizations.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, preferably within NGOs or international organizations. Experience in partnerships and civil society strengthening is particularly valuable, as the role involves working closely with various partners and stakeholders to enhance their capacity and compliance with NRC standards.

Languages:
Fluency in both written and spoken Ukrainian and/or Russian is mandatory for this position. Additionally, an advanced level of English language proficiency, both written and verbal, is required to facilitate communication and reporting.

This position is open to candidates who have the legal right to work in Ukraine. NRC is unable to provide work permits or visa sponsorships for this role.
