Job Overview:
The position involves facilitating multiple rounds of training across various capacity-building programs aimed at enhancing the leadership and political participation of women leaders and aspiring candidates. The consultant will utilize UN Women’s training modules and tools to deliver high-quality training sessions. The overarching goal is to ensure that women and girls benefit from gender-responsive governance and to contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to gender equality and governance. The consultant will also work to enhance the capacity of electoral actors in gender-responsive electoral processes, ensuring impactful and context-appropriate training delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for developing training packages for both online and offline formats, facilitating training sessions across various programs, conducting pre and post-training assessments, collecting feedback, and preparing comprehensive training reports. Specific tasks include: 1) Developing training packages aligned with UN Women’s modules; 2) Facilitating sessions on topics such as Women’s Political Empowerment, Electoral Legal Frameworks, and Gender-Responsive Media Reporting; 3) Conducting assessments to measure participant knowledge and skills; 4) Preparing training reports summarizing content and outcomes; 5) Reviewing and adapting training content for online delivery; 6) Providing expert advice on follow-up strategies to monitor training impact.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a master's degree in social sciences, governance, law, management, political science, leadership, peace and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of five years of experience in developing training materials and facilitating capacity-building programs focused on gender equality and related themes.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a master's degree in relevant fields such as social sciences, governance, law, political science, or leadership. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be considered. This educational background is essential to ensure the consultant has the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to effectively deliver training and facilitate discussions on complex topics related to gender equality and political participation.

Experience:
The position requires at least five years of relevant experience in developing training materials and facilitating capacity-building programs on gender equality, women's political empowerment, and related areas. Candidates should demonstrate strong knowledge of women's human rights, electoral processes, and legal frameworks, as well as experience in applying adult learning methodologies. Previous experience working with UN agencies, particularly UN Women, is considered an asset, as is experience in collaborative training with diverse stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in Amharic and English is mandatory for this position. A working knowledge of other UN languages is considered an asset, enhancing the consultant's ability to engage with a broader audience and facilitate training in diverse contexts.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy is home-based, but travel to designated training locations is required. The position is expected to involve a flexible schedule to accommodate training sessions and participant availability. The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the LEAD Program Specialist and is expected to demonstrate core values such as integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity.
