Job Overview:
The Safeguarding & Code of Conduct Coordinator plays a crucial role in linking the HQ Safeguarding & Code of Conduct with Country Operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that investigations, prevention efforts, and safeguarding measures are implemented consistently across global standards while being responsive to local contexts. The coordinator leads case handling, which includes investigations and monitoring within the assigned geographical scope, provides expert advisory support to Country Operations, and contributes to global prevention, capacity building, and compliance tracking in alignment with the centralized Safeguarding & Code of Conduct model. The role requires a proactive approach to safeguarding and ethical practices, ensuring that the organization maintains high standards of conduct and accountability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Safeguarding & Code of Conduct Coordinator include coordinating with the Global Registrar for accurate intake documentation and timely case allocation, leading investigations as an Authorizing Officer, producing high-quality reports on investigations, and ensuring appropriate case updates in relevant trackers. The coordinator will also support post-case follow-up, ensuring Management Action Plans are completed. In terms of prevention and safeguarding, the coordinator will assist in contextual risk assessments, adapt global prevention tools to local contexts, and train Country Operation Focal Points on safeguarding practices. Compliance monitoring is also a key responsibility, including ensuring the functionality of reporting mechanisms and flagging compliance gaps. The coordinator will maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders, promote the integration of reporting mechanisms, and represent the Safeguarding & Code of Conduct function in relevant forums.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience working with code of conduct or similar roles in large or local organizations, with a proven ability to influence senior management and stakeholders. Additionally, candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in conducting or monitoring sensitive internal investigations, along with demonstrated experience in developing and delivering training sessions. Familiarity with safeguarding and PSEAH standards, trauma-informed practices, and counter-fraud and anti-corruption measures is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in social science, human resources law, criminal law, human rights, gender studies, international affairs, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in CHS-type PSEAH investigations or counter-fraud and anti-corruption are considered assets.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in roles related to code of conduct, safeguarding, and investigations. Field experience in humanitarian settings for at least 3 years is advantageous, as is experience in delivering training and facilitating meetings.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory. Proficiency in French, Spanish, or Arabic is considered an advantage, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
