Job Overview: As a Technology Architect in the Cloud & DevOps domain at EBRD, you will play a crucial role in shaping the evolution of enterprise platforms. Your primary responsibility will be to design secure and scalable architectures that guide teams from concept to production. You will work closely with delivery teams while influencing the technology direction across both cloud and on-premises environments. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive on turning strategic visions into practical, working platforms at scale. You will own and evolve the Azure and DevOps architecture, translating strategic goals into clear, implementable designs, and guiding engineering squads on architecture patterns and best practices. Duties and Responsibilities:
Own and evolve Azure and DevOps architecture within the wider enterprise platform.
Translate strategic objectives into clear, implementable designs that can be executed by engineering teams.
Guide engineering squads on architecture patterns and best practices to ensure high-quality outcomes.
Design and govern CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes platforms, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
Embed security, resilience, observability, and performance considerations into architectural designs.
Shape future-state architecture and develop migration strategies for transitioning to modern platforms.
Collaborate with engineers, product teams, architects, and delivery partners to ensure that project outcomes align with strategic goals.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cloud and DevOps technologies to continuously improve the architecture.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Cloud, DevOps, or Platform Architect with a strong track record of successful project delivery.
Hands-on design experience with hyperscale cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
Strong understanding of containers, microservices, and modern DevOps practices.
Ability to influence delivery teams and senior stakeholders effectively.
Experience working in Agile or product-aligned environments, demonstrating adaptability and collaboration skills.
Comfortable working with managed service and delivery partners to achieve project objectives.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas such as cloud architecture, DevOps, or IT management are highly desirable and may enhance your candidacy.
Experience: Candidates should possess significant experience in cloud architecture and DevOps practices, ideally with a minimum of 5 years in relevant roles. Experience in designing and implementing large-scale cloud solutions and familiarity with enterprise environments will be advantageous.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those spoken in the EBRD member countries, is considered a plus and may enhance collaboration with diverse teams.
Additional Notes: This position is a fixed-term contract for a duration of 3 years. The EBRD promotes a hybrid working model, expecting employees to work in the office at least 50% of the time.
