Job Overview: The Product Analyst position at the World Bank Group is a critical role within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU). This unit is instrumental in enabling the organization to fulfill its mission of eradicating extreme poverty and enhancing shared prosperity through the delivery of transformative information and technologies. The Product Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements, assess processes, and deliver tailored AI solutions that align with the strategic objectives of the organization. This role is particularly focused on supporting the rapid delivery of AI-enabled products, ensuring that they meet the needs of country and regional teams while driving continuous improvement through monitoring key performance indicators. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for AI intervention and facilitating the rapid prototyping and deployment of solutions that can significantly enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Product Analyst include: collecting, refining, and documenting business requirements with a focus on rapid AI solutioning; driving the fast cycle delivery of AI-enabled products; ensuring alignment between business needs and AI solution design; facilitating rapid prototyping and iterative testing; identifying high-impact opportunities for AI intervention; capturing functional and technical specifications; gathering user requirements through interviews and workshops; supporting backlog prioritization; collaborating with stakeholders to validate AI opportunities; contributing to sprint planning and reviews; developing and executing lean test plans; and supporting end-to-end testing and validation of AI systems to ensure reliability and alignment with business value.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Product Analyst position must possess a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, such as a Bachelor’s degree in IT with a minimum of 1 year of related work experience. Demonstrated experience in delivering AI solutions in complex environments is essential, along with a strong understanding of operational realities and deployment considerations. Candidates should have the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable AI product features and possess recommended certifications such as SAFe Product Owner, Machine Learning Foundations, Responsible AI, or Data Science. A solid understanding of IT development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and modern delivery practices is also required, along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex AI concepts clearly.
Educational Background: The educational background required for the Product Analyst position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Alternatively, candidates may qualify with a Bachelor’s degree in IT or a similar field, provided they have sufficient relevant work experience. Continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies, particularly in AI, are highly valued.
