Job Overview: The Senior Driver/Clerk position at UN Women is crucial for providing reliable and safe driving services to UN Women staff and high-ranking UN officials and visitors. The Senior Driver/Clerk will not only be responsible for driving but will also provide basic administrative, logistical, and protocol support to the office. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide reliable and secure driving services, including transporting authorized personnel, delivering and collecting mail and documents, and meeting official personnel at the airport. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including the use of seatbelts and adherence to security protocols for transporting VIPs.
Maintain proper use of the vehicle by keeping daily logs of mileage, gas consumption, and servicing, and contributing to vehicle maintenance plans.
Ensure day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, including cleanliness, minor repairs, and timely inspections of vehicle components.
Maintain all required documents and supplies in the vehicle, including insurance, vehicle logs, and first aid kits.
Provide basic administrative, logistical, and protocol support, including liaising with government authorities for documentation, maintaining accurate filing systems, and supporting logistical tasks to ensure continuity of office functions.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.
Required Qualifications: The position requires completion of secondary education and a valid driver's license. Candidates must demonstrate excellent driving skills, knowledge of driving rules and regulations, and good defensive driving skills. Skills in minor vehicle repairs and the ability to be punctual are also essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience in administrative support and a client-oriented approach.
Educational Background: Candidates must have completed secondary education, which is a prerequisite for this position. A valid driver's license is also required to ensure that the candidate is legally permitted to operate a vehicle in the relevant jurisdiction.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system, with a proven safe driving record. Familiarity with using computers and office software packages, such as MS Word and Excel, is also required to assist with administrative tasks effectively.
