Job Overview:
The ICT Help Desk Assistant will play a crucial role in implementing information and communication technology (ICT) management systems and strategies. Reporting to the Resident Representative of ONU Femmes and under the direct supervision of the Administration and Finance Officer, as well as technical supervision from the Regional ICT Officer, the assistant will provide daily technical support to users of information management tools and technological infrastructure. The role involves ensuring compliance with ICT standards and procedures, supporting the use of the Quantum system (PeopleSoft ERP), and enhancing office productivity through the effective use of new technologies. The assistant will also promote a client-oriented approach to ICT services, ensuring that users receive the necessary support and guidance to utilize technology effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation of ICT management systems and strategies by ensuring compliance with information management and communication standards, guidelines, and procedures. Provide technical support for the Quantum system to improve business results and customer service.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of office hardware and software by performing routine technical tasks, including hardware component changes and repairs, supporting the installation of internally developed software, and assisting users with file backup, restoration, and virus prevention.
  • Manage network administration by addressing user needs and questions regarding network access, supporting LAN/WAN infrastructure maintenance, assisting with backup and restoration procedures, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and cybersecurity standards.
  • Provide administrative support by maintaining an updated inventory of software and hardware, managing reference document libraries, and preparing routine correspondence and reports.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing within the office by participating in staff training on ICT issues and synthesizing lessons learned and best practices in ICT.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of PC/LAN operating systems, Microsoft Windows, enterprise ICT security systems, and antivirus protection. They should have excellent troubleshooting skills for computer hardware and a good knowledge of videoconferencing and telecommunications. The candidate should be capable of performing a variety of specialized and non-specialized tasks and processes related to ICT management.

Educational Background:
A secondary school diploma (baccalauréat) or a Computer Technician Certificate (BT Informatique) is required. A bachelor's degree (BAC + 3) in computer science or networking is desirable. Additional training in computer science, IT systems, business software (Microsoft Office), or web-based applications is preferred. Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are also desirable. If the CCNA certification is not obtained at the time of recruitment, it must be acquired within six months.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least five years of professional experience for secondary school level or two years of experience for bachelor's degree holders in network management and the use of hardware/software, telecommunications installations, or related fields. Experience with the UN system in ICT and logistics would be an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in French is required, while knowledge of English or another UN language is considered an asset but not mandatory.
