Job Overview:
The Programme Associate position at WFP is designed to provide specialized support and analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">technical analysis for school feeding policies and programs in Côte d'Ivoire. The role involves working closely with the School Feeding Programme Manager to ensure that various projects are executed in alignment with WFP's objectives and policies. The Programme Associate will be responsible for project management support, ensuring effective implementation and monitoring of ongoing activities, and collaborating with internal units and field offices. This position requires a proactive approach to data collection, validation, and reporting, ensuring that all information is accurate and meets established standards. The Programme Associate will also play a crucial role in coordinating with implementation partners and contributing to capacity building for WFP staff and government entities. This role is vital in ensuring that WFP's school feeding initiatives are successful and impactful, ultimately contributing to the organization's mission of eradicating hunger.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Associate will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Providing technical support in project management for various school feeding initiatives, ensuring adherence to WFP's objectives and policies.
  • Liaising and collaborating internally with units involved in project activities and field offices to facilitate effective implementation and monitoring.
  • Coordinating with implementation partners to ensure the successful execution of defined activities.
  • Collecting, verifying, and validating implementation data, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance with established norms and procedures.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely recording of relevant activity data and maintaining coherence in information presented to stakeholders.
  • Managing activity information by preparing reports and data analyses, identifying trends, and ensuring the quality of deliverables.
  • Coordinating the deployment of digital monitoring systems in school feeding programs, ensuring regular quality checks and resolving technical issues in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the preparation of project notes, concept notes, and proposals, while supporting the team in tracking data, deadlines, and project deliverables.
  • Contributing to capacity building for WFP staff, cooperating partners, and government entities. 1
  • Serving as a focal point for resolving operational issues. 1
  • Supervising or reviewing the work of other support staff and providing practical guidance to meet objectives within agreed standards and timelines. 1
  • Performing any other tasks as requested.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree plus a post-secondary certificate in fields related to school feeding, nutrition, social protection, education, food technology, health sciences, food control, or other relevant areas. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate proficiency in project management and possess strong analytical skills. A solid understanding of WFP's policies and procedures is essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment. Candidates should also exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.

Educational Background:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, complemented by a post-secondary certificate in areas such as school feeding, nutrition, social protection, education, food technology, health sciences, food control, or related disciplines. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of the programs and policies that the Programme Associate will be involved in.

Experience:
Candidates are expected to have a minimum of six years of experience in relevant fields such as nutrition, social protection, education, school feeding, food technology, health sciences, food control, or related areas. Experience in implementing programs and a solid understanding of school feeding initiatives are highly desirable. Proficiency in using computer tools such as Word, Excel, Access, and statistical analysis software is required. The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is essential, along with a strong sense of confidentiality and initiative.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, with a basic knowledge of English being advantageous. Proficiency in both languages will enhance communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders and partners involved in the school feeding programs.
