Job Overview:
The Psychosocial Expert will be a vital member of the Wellbeing Team within the Directorate of People at EUROCONTROL. This role is focused on promoting a healthy and supportive work environment by providing psychosocial support and guidance to staff. The expert will collaborate with various internal and external partners to ensure that staff have access to necessary resources, including psychosocial support, medical care, and occupational safety advice. The position requires a proactive approach to developing and implementing policies related to mental health and wellbeing, as well as training and awareness initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall workplace culture. The Psychosocial Expert will be responsible for planning and delivering psychosocial services across the Agency, contributing to the development of wellbeing policies, and ensuring that staff are well-informed about issues related to stress management and conflict resolution. This role demands a high level of autonomy and discretion, as well as the ability to work closely with HR partners and the Head of Care to support staff wellbeing and prevent harassment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Psychosocial Expert will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: providing expertise and guidance on the prevention of psychosocial risks and harassment; coordinating the implementation of relevant policies in collaboration with various departments; developing and maintaining action plans and feedback surveys; monitoring workplace complaint procedures related to psychosocial risks; offering advice and coaching to management and HR on handling individual cases; providing training and awareness programs for staff; coordinating the network of confidential counsellors; establishing relationships with internal and external partners; contributing to the drafting of working documents and reports; defining and implementing mediation services; and staying updated on best practices in the field of psychosocial support. The expert will also be expected to carry out any other tasks that align with the main purpose of the job.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications: completion of third-level studies in a relevant field (such as psychology, sociology, or labour sciences) meeting European Qualifications Framework (EQF) level 7, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience; or completion of third-level studies in a relevant field meeting EQF level 6, along with a minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience. Additional qualifications that would be considered an asset include a diploma in the prevention of psychosocial risks and/or wellbeing at work, certification as a mediator, and qualification as a trainer. Experience in dealing with harassment matters, knowledge of occupational health and safety frameworks in a European context, and experience in drafting policies and guidelines are also advantageous.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes completion of third-level studies in a relevant field such as psychology, sociology, or labour sciences. The studies must meet the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) levels specified for the position, which are level 6 or level 7, depending on the candidate's professional experience. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of psychosocial risks and the necessary interventions to support staff wellbeing.

Experience:
Candidates should have substantial experience in the field of psychosocial support, with a minimum of 5 to 6 years of relevant professional experience depending on their educational qualifications. This experience should include a strong background in handling psychosocial risks, harassment matters, and conflict management interventions. Familiarity with training and awareness programs related to wellbeing issues is also beneficial, as is experience in drafting conceptual documents and policies.

Languages:
Proficiency in English at level C1 is mandatory for this position, along with independent user proficiency in French at levels B1/B
  • These language requirements are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and are essential for effective communication within the multinational and multicultural environment of EUROCONTROL.

Additional Notes:
The position is offered for a duration of five years, with the possibility of renewal or conversion of the contract under certain conditions. The selected candidate must successfully complete a probationary period of nine months before being established in the post. The appointment will be made at the grade specified in the vacancy notice, and candidates who are declared suitable but not selected will be placed on a reserve list for similar roles, valid for one year from the closing date of applications. The organization operates a hybrid working model, allowing for a combination of onsite presence and remote work opportunities, although full-time remote work is not permitted.
