Job Overview: The Cloud Architect position at EUROCONTROL is a pivotal role within the Network Management Directorate, specifically in the Technology division. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance on cloud architecture activities, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and technology transformation objectives. This role involves developing cloud architecture roadmaps, defining and implementing cloud migration strategies, and collaborating with IT architects and external service providers to design and deploy cloud service solutions. The Cloud Architect will also participate in cloud governance, analyze technical requirements, and promote awareness of cloud technologies within the organization. The position requires a proactive approach to researching new cloud service offerings and maintaining technical documentation related to cloud standards and practices. The candidate will be expected to stay updated on technological developments and share knowledge within the internal community, contributing to the overall enhancement of organizational capabilities in cloud computing.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Cloud Architect include:
Providing technical expertise and coordination on architecture activities related to cloud technologies.
Developing cloud architecture roadmaps and implementing cloud migration strategies.
Collaborating with IT architects, IT operations, and external service providers to support architectural decisions.

Analyzing technical requirements and translating them into practical cloud technology solutions.
Promoting awareness of cloud technologies and facilitating their adoption within the organization.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must meet one of the following educational and professional experience requirements:
Completion of third level studies meeting European Qualifications Framework (EQF) level 7 followed by a minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience.
Completion of third level studies meeting European Qualifications Framework (EQF) level 6 followed by a minimum of 6 years relevant professional experience. Additionally, candidates must possess Microsoft AZURE Cloud Certification, and having Cloud Architect credentials such as AWS or Microsoft Azure Solution Architect would be advantageous. Hands-on experience with cloud computing, virtualization, and containerization technologies is essential, along with knowledge of automation and DevOPS methodologies. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of networking, security, systems engineering concepts, and cloud architecture frameworks.

Languages: For this position, proficiency in English at level C1 is mandatory, as it is one of the working languages of the Agency. Additionally, candidates are required to become basic users of French at level A1 before the end of the probation period. Additional Notes: The Cloud Architect position is a full-time role with a duration of 5 years, subject to renewal or conversion under specific conditions. The selected candidate will undergo a probationary period of nine months before being established in the post. The appointment may be renewed multiple times, but the total duration, including all renewals, cannot exceed nine years.
