Job Overview:
The Driver position at IOM involves providing essential driving services and general support to project staff in Cotabato. The incumbent will be responsible for operating IOM vehicles, ensuring their maintenance, and keeping them in roadworthy condition. This role requires a commitment to safety and confidentiality, as the driver will be responsible for transporting personnel and sensitive materials. The position also includes clerical duties when necessary, making it a multifaceted role that supports the operational needs of the organization. The driver will work under the supervision of the Head of Cotabato Sub-Office and will be expected to adhere to IOM's values and competencies, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Driver include but are not limited to: driving assigned IOM vehicles for official purposes, managing daily maintenance checks of the vehicles, arranging for minor repairs, ensuring cleanliness, and keeping records of spare parts. The driver must find the safest and most efficient routes for travel, maintain a daily log sheet, and prepare monthly reports on vehicle usage. Additionally, the driver will meet official personnel at airports, facilitate immigration and customs formalities, and assist in delivering mail and documents. The role may also involve performing simple clerical tasks such as answering calls and making photocopies as needed. Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a valid national driver’s license and have a high school degree or certificate with a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is acceptable. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, experience in driving various vehicle makes and models, and skills in minor vehicle repairs are essential. Candidates should also have basic vehicle maintenance knowledge, record-keeping skills for mileage and fuel usage, and defensive driving skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or certificate, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database, ensuring that candidates have received a recognized level of education that meets IOM's standards.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have at least 2 years of relevant driving experience. This includes knowledge of driving rules and regulations, experience with various vehicle types, and skills in performing minor vehicle repairs. Candidates should also have experience in maintaining vehicle records and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Filipino is required for this position, both oral and written. IOM's official languages include English, French, and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages may be evaluated during the selection process. Candidates should be prepared for assessments that may include written and/or oral evaluations of their language skills.

Additional Notes:
This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for the Philippines will be considered. The appointment will be contingent upon medical fitness certification and verification of residency and visa requirements.
