Job Overview: The Field Programme Coordinator for Women Peace and Security (WPS) and Humanitarian Action (HA) is tasked with managing the implementation of the UN Women-UNDP Joint Programme aimed at empowering women for sustainable peace in the BARMM region. This role involves coordinating field implementation, ensuring coherence across UN Women projects in BARMM, and collaborating closely with various stakeholders including government and civil society partners. The coordinator will report to the Programme Specialist, WPS, and is expected to represent UN Women in various engagements. The position requires a strong focus on capacity building, monitoring and evaluation of projects, and ensuring successful delivery of programme results on the ground. The coordinator will also be responsible for managing financial resources and supervising Programme Associates and Assistants.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the WPS-HA Programme/Portfolios in BARMM, including work plan development, preparation of reports, and maintaining documentation on programme activities.
Advocate for knowledge building and communication, documenting programme processes and coordinating major advocacy campaigns and events.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, management, social sciences, or related fields. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. A project/programme management certification such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP® is considered an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong programme formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation skills, as well as good budget and finance skills. Knowledge of Results Based Management and the ability to analyze data and present findings are essential.
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position includes a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as public administration, law, human rights, gender equality, management, or social sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree along with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification is a plus.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in managing complex and multi-component programme interventions, preferably in areas related to Women, Peace and Security, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution. Experience in coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating development programmes is desirable, particularly within the context of BARMM. Familiarity with office software and web-based management systems is required, and experience with modern ERP systems is advantageous.
Languages: Fluency in English and Filipino is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish is desirable but not mandatory.
Additional Notes: The position is based in Cotabato, Philippines, and involves supervisory responsibilities over Programme Associates.
