Job Overview:

This position is responsible for the implementation and management of IAM governance as a second line function, ensuring that access controls are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle. The IAM Governance Lead will collaborate closely with various technology, security, and business teams to align IAM policies and procedures with the IMF's goals and industry best practices. The role requires a strategic mindset to address current and future cybersecurity challenges while fostering a secure operational framework that supports the Fund's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and operationalize a tailored IAM governance framework in collaboration with IT and business departments, ensuring clear delineation of IAM roles and responsibilities.
  • Oversee identity lifecycle and access governance activities, including the development and maintenance of IAM policy standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of identity lifecycle management processes and risk reduction measures, advising on gaps in technology stack and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand access needs, ensuring IAM strategies support business processes and productivity.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration on IAM-related topics and establish central communication platforms for continuous information sharing.
  • Oversee the implementation, integration, and operations of IAM tools and technologies, ensuring they meet the IMF’s business and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Security Architecture teams to influence IAM enterprise architecture and drive the IAM strategic technology roadmap.
  • Lead the IAM governance committee, communicating compliance expectations and facilitating discussions related to IAM policies and practices.
  • Identify IAM-related risks and collaborate with Operational Risk partners on access-related compliance monitoring and testing activities. 1
  • Oversee changes that may impact the IAM program and identity lifecycle operations. 1
  • Monitor the IAM program’s operational health and maturity through key metrics and risk reporting. 1
  • Lead the delivery of IAM governance training programs for IT, security teams, and end-users to foster awareness and adherence to IAM policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in information security, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of progressive information security work experience. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience is acceptable. Candidates should also hold one or more of the following certifications: CISSP, CISM, SABSA, or CEGIT. Experience leading IAM-related programs in mid to large organizations is essential. Strong relationship management skills are required to establish effective partnerships in a diverse environment, along with the ability to represent the department successfully to various audiences.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in information security, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in a related field is acceptable, provided the candidate has extensive experience in information security. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SABSA, or CEGIT are also necessary to demonstrate expertise in the field.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in information security for candidates with an advanced degree, or 14 years for those with a bachelor's degree.
