Job Overview: The position of Community Video Screenings Coordinator involves organizing and conducting community video screenings across various wards in Northern Bangladesh. This initiative is part of a broader effort to engage and inform community members through the public display of short videos. The selected firm will be responsible for the entire implementation process, which includes mobilizing community members, arranging logistics, facilitating the events, and collecting participant information. The screenings will occur in approximately 150 wards, showcasing three short videos provided by the project team. The firm must ensure that screenings are accessible and scheduled at times that encourage participation from both men and women, with a specific goal of having women make up at least half of the attendees. After the screenings, the firm will be required to submit a consolidated participant database along with a summary of the implementation experiences and challenges faced during the project.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Mobilize community members in advance of each screening event to ensure high attendance.
Select accessible and centrally located venues within each ward for the screenings.
Schedule screenings at times that facilitate participation from both women and men.
Ensure that at least half of the attendees at each screening are women, promoting gender-inclusive participation.
Implement logistical arrangements for the screenings, including the setup of audio-visual equipment such as projectors and sound systems.
Facilitate the screening events, ensuring smooth operations and engagement with the audience.
Collect participant information accurately, including names and mobile phone numbers, to build a comprehensive database.
Submit a consolidated participant database and a brief summary of implementation experiences and challenges upon completion of the field activities.
Demonstrate effective supervision of field teams, including trained female staff members, to ensure quality and ethical standards are maintained.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in implementing community-based activities or public events in Bangladesh, particularly in rural or semi-rural settings.
Strong capacity to mobilize large numbers of community members and ensure inclusive participation, with a focus on meaningful involvement of women.
Experience in organizing and managing audio-visual events, including the use of projectors, sound systems, and related equipment in field settings.
Ability to collect accurate participant information at scale in community environments, ensuring data quality and confidentiality.
Availability of trained field staff, including female staff members, to effectively supervise field teams.
Strong logistical and operational capacity to implement activities across multiple locations within a defined timeline.
Commitment to ethical standards in field implementation and data management.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in community mobilization, event management, or related fields, particularly in the context of Bangladesh. Experience working with diverse communities and ensuring gender-inclusive participation is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in Bengali is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in the community settings. Proficiency in English is also preferred for documentation and reporting purposes. Knowledge of any local dialects would be an added advantage.
Additional Notes: This position is a contract role specifically for the duration of the community video screenings project. The selected firm or individual will be expected to work full-time during the project timeline, which will involve extensive fieldwork across multiple locations.
