Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst position at UN Women involves providing programmatic support for the effective management of initiatives under the Ending Violence against Women and Girls (EVAWG) pillar of the Gender Equality Accelerator Joint Programme. The role requires contributing to the design, formulation, implementation, and evaluation of programs, ensuring alignment with UN Women’s strategic priorities and international standards. The Programme Analyst will analyze results achieved during program implementation and support the application of systems and procedures that strengthen survivor-centered, rights-based responses. Collaboration with various stakeholders, including government officials, donors, and civil society, is essential for successful program implementation. The position also involves monitoring progress, providing technical assistance, and contributing to advocacy and knowledge-building efforts related to EVAWG.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of program strategies in the area of Eliminating Violence against Women and Girls (EVAWG) within the Joint Programme Gender Equality Accelerator (JP GEA).
  • Provide technical support to the implementation and management of the thematic area of EVAWG under JP GEA, including inputs to annual work plans, budgets, and results frameworks.
  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of program activities, including organizing technical review committees and assessing partner capacities.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity development support to project/programme partners.
  • Monitor progress on program activities, results, and indicators, and provide inputs to reports.
  • Monitor budget implementation and program expenditures, performing budget revisions as needed.
  • Contribute to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies, including analyzing information and maintaining databases.
  • Provide technical inputs to inter-agency coordination on EVAWG to ensure coherence and alignment of UN Women programs with other partners.
  • Support advocacy, knowledge building, and communication efforts related to EVAWG, including organizing events and developing knowledge management products.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in gender, development, public policy, human rights, management, social sciences, or related fields. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) is considered an added advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong program formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation skills, as well as knowledge of Results Based Management and the ability to analyze data and present findings effectively.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as gender studies, development, public policy, human rights, management, or social sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification is also beneficial.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 1 year of relevant work experience in development program/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building. Additionally, at least 1 year of experience in gender equality, violence against women, gender-based violence, or closely related areas is required. Experience in monitoring program implementation, preparing reports, and applying survivor-centered, rights-based approaches is essential. Experience working with international organizations, UN agencies, or EU-funded projects is desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and English is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
