Job Overview: The Reporting Specialist position is integral to the FAO Subregional Office for West Africa, focusing on integrated results reporting. The role requires the individual to lead the collection and structuring of evidence, ensuring the quality of narratives and metrics that reflect the achievements and lessons learned by the SFW. The Reporting Specialist will produce high-quality analytical reports that highlight project accomplishments, challenges faced, and recommendations for future actions. Duties and Responsibilities: The Reporting Specialist will be responsible for coordinating contributions to FAO-wide reporting products, utilizing advanced reporting tools to extract and ensure data consistency. The individual will serve as a rapporteur for sessions, draft minutes, and maintain results registers and dashboards. They will provide analytical inputs for proposals, track progress on reports, and ensure timely submissions. The role also involves reviewing and editing reports to adhere to FAO standards, providing critical analysis of draft reports, and coordinating with communications teams for visibility support. The Reporting Specialist will perform other related duties as requested, ensuring that all communication materials comply with FAO guidelines and standards.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's) in public policy, economics, agriculture, development studies, monitoring and evaluation, communications, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in results-based management and reporting within the UN or development sector is required. The role demands a working knowledge of both English and French, as these are mandatory languages for effective communication within the organization and with stakeholders.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master's) in fields such as public policy, economics, agriculture, development studies, monitoring and evaluation, or communications. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of agrifood systems and the reporting requirements associated with them.
Experience: The Reporting Specialist should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in results-based management and reporting, particularly within the UN or development sector. This experience should include a strong understanding of the reporting processes and compliance requirements associated with donor and government expectations, as well as familiarity with the specific challenges faced in the West African context.
Languages: A working knowledge of English and French is mandatory for this position.
