Job Overview:
The Information Management Officer will play a crucial role within the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) team in Palestine, specifically in Gaza. This position is pivotal in managing and disseminating operational information related to IT operations during the ongoing conflict emergency in Palestine. The officer will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the performance of the ETC, ensuring that accurate and timely information is shared with stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves advocacy efforts to mobilize resources and raise awareness about the ETC's activities both locally and globally. The officer will work closely with the ETC Coordinator and other team members to ensure that the information management processes are efficient and effective, contributing to the overall mission of WFP in providing humanitarian assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Management Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: coordinating reporting activities related to ETC operations, writing regular situation reports, factsheets, and infographics summarizing ETC activities; assisting in the preparation of various reports and documentation such as Concept of Operations, project documents, and funding appeals; managing the content of the ETC Palestine country operations page; establishing and maintaining mailing lists; advising on internal information sharing mechanisms; coordinating meetings with partners and internal WFP teams; monitoring the shared ETC email account; developing and distributing user feedback surveys; preparing content for media releases and other public communications; acting as an information focal point for ETC activities; supporting procurement of visibility items; liaising with donors and NGOs; and representing the ETC in relevant meetings. The officer will also perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors, ensuring that all tasks align with WFP's mission and operational goals.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in social sciences, international relations, communications, journalism, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with additional years of relevant working experience is acceptable. The role requires a minimum of three years of postgraduate professional experience in information management, communications, or related fields, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience in international contexts and emergency settings. Knowledge of ICT operations and the humanitarian reform/cluster concept is desirable, as is the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.

Educational Background:
The educational requirements for this position include an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, international relations, communications, or journalism. Candidates with a first-level university degree will also be considered if they have additional years of relevant experience. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian operations and effectively managing information in a crisis context.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of postgraduate professional experience in information management, communications, or related fields. Experience in emergency settings or hardship locations is highly desirable, as it equips candidates with the necessary skills to navigate the challenges faced in humanitarian contexts. Familiarity with international operations and the ability to work under pressure are critical for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, with a proficiency level of C in both languages. This bilingual requirement is essential for effective communication within the diverse operational environment of WFP and for engaging with various stakeholders, including local communities, partners, and international organizations. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered under a Service Contract, specifically at the SC L9 level, with an initial duration of six months, which may be renewable based on performance and organizational needs. The role is only open to nationals or residents with a legal permit or ID to work in Gaza.
