Job Overview:
The Driver position at UN Women involves providing reliable and safe driving services to the UN Women Country Representative, high-ranking UN officials, staff, and visitors. The role requires a strong sense of responsibility, discretion, and integrity, as well as an excellent understanding of protocol and security issues. The Driver is expected to demonstrate a client-oriented approach, courtesy, and the ability to work with individuals from diverse national and cultural backgrounds. In addition to driving, the Driver may also be tasked with delivering and collecting mail, documents, and other items, as well as assisting with airport formalities for official personnel and visitors. The position requires adherence to UN Women’s policies and guidelines, particularly regarding vehicle management and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver's primary duties include providing secure driving services for the transport of UN Women personnel and facilitating VIP missions. Responsibilities also encompass delivering and collecting documents, meeting visitors at the airport, ensuring passenger safety by enforcing seatbelt use and no smoking policies, and taking immediate actions in case of accidents. The Driver is responsible for maintaining vehicle logs, monitoring fuel consumption, and overseeing vehicle maintenance, including cleanliness and minor repairs. Additionally, the Driver must ensure that all required documents and supplies are available in the vehicle, assist with general administrative tasks, and perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and have completed secondary education. A minimum of three years of relevant driving experience in an international organization, embassy, or UN system is required, along with a safe driving record. The position demands excellent driving skills, knowledge of driving rules and regulations, and the ability to perform minor vehicle repairs. Candidates should demonstrate punctuality and a commitment to environmental sustainability through responsible driving practices.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education. A valid driver’s license is also mandatory to ensure compliance with driving regulations and safety standards.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least three years of relevant experience as a driver, particularly within an international organization, embassy, or UN system. This experience should include a proven safe driving record, showcasing the candidate's ability to navigate various driving conditions and adhere to safety protocols.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required, along with working knowledge of Kyrgyz and Russian. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, or Spanish, is considered desirable, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse environment.
