Job Overview: The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Finance Coordinator will oversee and manage all administrative, accounting, and financial services associated with the mission in Mozambique. This role is crucial for ensuring the financial stability of the mission and compliance with Solidarités International's procedures, donor requirements, and local laws. The Finance Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for financial matters between the mission and headquarters, ensuring that all financial operations are conducted smoothly and efficiently. The position requires a proactive approach to capacity building with local partner organizations, supporting the development of financial proposals, and ensuring compliance with grant closures. The Finance Coordinator will also implement and monitor mission procedures and logistical tools, ensuring their proper use, and will assist in establishing or reopening the Mocimboa base as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate all administrative, accounting, and financial services for the mission.
Ensure the financial balance of the mission is maintained.
Guarantee compliance with Solidarités International procedures, donor requirements, and local laws.
Act as the main reference point for financial matters between the mission and headquarters.
Provide ongoing capacity building and follow-up with local partner organizations.
Support the development of new financial proposals, including budget preparation.
Facilitate the closure of three grants planned for December 2025, ensuring compliance and proper reporting.
Implement and monitor mission procedures and logistical tools, ensuring proper usage.
Support the team in setting up or reopening the Mocimboa base. 1
Conduct day-to-day security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security monitoring and adapt to changing security contexts.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, particularly in a similar position.
Previous experience with UN agencies is desired.
Experience working in unstable environments, particularly in conflict or post-conflict countries.
Proven experience in both HR and Finance management.
Familiarity with Saga and Homere software is advantageous.
Knowledge of Solidarités International's rules, tools, and procedures is a plus.
Strong training and capacity building skills are essential.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field. A strong academic background in humanitarian studies or international development may also be beneficial.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 3-4 years of relevant experience in an international NGO, particularly in a similar context. Experience in leadership roles and the ability to work under pressure in a tense security environment are crucial for this position.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this role, while proficiency in Portuguese is preferable. Candidates who can communicate effectively in both languages will have an advantage in this position.

The role is based in Pemba, Mozambique, and involves a salary starting from EUR 3050 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 750 is provided, along with accommodation costs and travel expenses covered by the organization. The position includes a break system, allowing for time off every three months, with an additional rest day granted for each month worked. Expatriates will benefit from a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs.
