The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Logistics Officer and will be responsible for overseeing logistics operations at the Nacala Hub. Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Developing logistics plans and processes in compliance with WFP policies.
Supporting logistics projects and day-to-day operations to ensure effective food assistance delivery.
Collecting and analyzing data to recommend improvements in local logistics operations.
Coordinating with the Country Office Logistics team and liaising with customs and port authorities for efficient operations.
Planning and implementing cost-effective storage and delivery of relief items.
Ensuring compliance of stock movements with WFP corporate systems.

Guiding support staff and assisting with queries.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree with an additional two years of relevant work experience and/or training is acceptable. The position requires a minimum of two years of professional work experience in logistics or supply chain management, demonstrating a solid understanding of logistics operations and processes. Candidates should also have experience coordinating service providers, arranging supplier deliveries, and evaluating offers. Familiarity with SAP or other integrated web-based systems is advantageous, as is experience in report writing and contract execution.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for this position include an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or Business Management.
