Job Overview:
The intern will be part of the Strategy, Planning, Results and Effectiveness Division (SPRED) of UN Women, specifically within the Strategic Planning Unit (SPU). The role involves supporting the rollout of the Planning, Monitoring and Reporting (PMR) Policy and Procedures, as well as developing Results-Based Management (RBM) learning materials. The intern will engage with various UN Women offices, including Country and Regional Offices, to assist in implementing planning and reporting procedures. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in policy development, capacity building, and knowledge management within a global organization dedicated to gender equality.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will have a range of responsibilities including: assisting Country Offices, Regional Offices, and Headquarters in implementing planning, monitoring, and reporting procedures; drafting communications and following up on meeting actions; providing quality assurance; supporting the rollout of PMR training packages; organizing training sessions in collaboration with colleagues; coordinating inputs for SPU’s Work Planning and Annual Reporting exercises; developing communication materials to enhance visibility of PMR policies and RBM materials; and maintaining and updating intranet pages related to planning and RBM.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical and administrative skills, excellent writing and communication abilities, and a proactive attitude towards work. They should demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with a diverse range of colleagues and be capable of working independently. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask are essential, along with proficiency in IT, particularly in web content management and PowerPoint development. Familiarity with gender issues and the UN system is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
Applicants must have university studies in relevant disciplines such as research, knowledge management, public administration, business management, law, or similar fields. They should meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a graduate program, be in the final year of a bachelor's degree, have graduated within the last two years, or be part of a postgraduate professional traineeship program that includes the internship as a requirement.

Experience:
The position is designed for individuals who are either currently enrolled in a relevant academic program or have recently graduated. Therefore, prior professional experience is not strictly required, but any relevant internships or volunteer work in related fields would be beneficial and enhance a candidate's application.

Languages:
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral, are mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another UN language is advantageous and would be considered a plus in the selection process.

Additional Notes:
The internship is unpaid, but interns not receiving financial support from other sources will receive a stipend from UN Women to help cover basic living costs during the internship.
