Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position offers a unique opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience in the OSCE Mission's programmatic departments. Interns will assist with project activities, report development, and analysis, providing them with insights into the Mission's work in institution-building, democracy assistance, and human rights. The internship spans six months and includes participation in meetings with stakeholders, allowing interns to gain practical experience in a multi-institutional environment. Interns will be assigned to specific departments, including the Department of Human Rights and Communities and the Department of security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security and Public Safety, where they will engage in various tasks that contribute to the overall mission of the OSCE.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be involved in a range of activities across different departments. In the Department of Human Rights and Communities, responsibilities include assisting in the implementation of activities, scheduling, maintaining records, organizing meetings, conducting research on community needs, and preparing summary reports. Interns will also contribute to the development of promotional materials and support analysis within the Communities Section. In the Law and Justice Section, interns will assist with trial monitoring activities, prepare weekly reports, and support outreach with judicial stakeholders. In the Department of Security and Public Safety, interns will gain an overview of the department's work, support planning and coordination of activities, and conduct research on security policies. Overall, interns will engage in administrative, operational, and logistical tasks, contributing to the success of various programs and initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be no older than 30 years at the application deadline and have completed at least two years of full-time post-secondary education in a relevant field such as international relations, political science, law, human rights, or security studies. Permanent residence status in the duty station is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and one of the official local languages are mandatory, with knowledge of additional local languages considered an asset. Candidates should possess strong research and analytical abilities, good organizational skills, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications is also necessary.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have completed two years of full-time post-secondary education in an accredited institution or hold a first or advanced degree in a field relevant to the OSCE's mandate. This educational background should be obtained no longer than two years before the application deadline, ensuring that candidates are well-versed in the principles and practices relevant to the OSCE's work.

Experience:
While previous work experience or internships in a relevant field are desirable, they are not mandatory. Candidates with experience working in a multilateral or multicultural environment will be given preference, as this aligns with the OSCE's operational context and values.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, along with one of the official local languages of Kosovo. Knowledge of additional local languages is considered an asset, enhancing communication and engagement with diverse communities.

Additional Notes:
The internship is a short-term position with a full-time schedule, lasting for six months. Interns will receive a contribution towards living costs equivalent to 10% of the applicable BLA rate, along with social benefits including participation in the Cigna health insurance scheme.
