Job Overview: The internship for Disability Inclusion is designed to empower young individuals with disabilities in Kosovo by providing them with practical experience and the opportunity to contribute to the OSCE's mission of promoting human rights. The intern will work closely with the Office of the Head of Mission (OHoM) and will be involved in various initiatives aimed at enhancing the inclusion of persons with disabilities within the Mission and the broader community. This role is crucial in developing strategies and practices that ensure that the rights of individuals with disabilities are recognized and integrated into the Mission's operations. The intern will engage with different departments, gaining insights into the workings of the Mission while contributing to meaningful projects that aim to improve the lives of people with disabilities in Kosovo.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Intern for Disability Inclusion will undertake a variety of tasks under the guidance of the Senior Coordination Officer. Key responsibilities include conducting a comprehensive desk review of best practices for disability inclusion, creating a repository of relevant documents, and advising on the execution of a disability audit in collaboration with the Head of Mission Office. The intern will also work with the Learning and Development Team to enhance staff capacity for disability inclusion, organize monthly discussions, and assist in integrating disability considerations into Mission programming. Furthermore, the intern will support consultations with persons with disabilities, contribute to project documentation, and collaborate with the Office of Political Affairs to promote disability rights on social media. Administrative support will also be part of the role, including attending meetings and documenting discussions. The internship will culminate in a final project that showcases the intern's contributions and learning outcomes, which will be presented to a panel at the end of the internship.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a visible or invisible disability and be 30 years old or younger. They should have completed at least two years at an accredited university or graduated no earlier than 2022, or have obtained a relevant degree within the last two years. Experience advocating for disability rights or volunteering with NGOs is essential. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required, along with the ability to use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. The ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds is also necessary.

Additional Notes: The internship is a short-term position lasting for six months and is full-time. While it does not guarantee future employment with the OSCE, it offers valuable experience and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work. The OSCE will provide support to meet the needs of interns related to their disabilities. Instead of a salary, there may be a contribution towards living costs for national interns who are non-residents at the duty station, equivalent to 10% of the applicable Board and Living Allowance.
