Job Overview:
The Project Assistant position is integral to the Property, Cultural Heritage, and Inter-faith Dialogue Section (PCIS) within the OSCE Mission in Kosovo. This role is designed to support the implementation of an extra-budgetary project aimed at preserving the cultural heritage of non-majority communities in Kosovo. The Project Assistant will be responsible for providing both administrative and programmatic support, ensuring that project activities are executed effectively and in alignment with the project's objectives. This includes organizing capacity-building activities, coordinating 3D digital documentation efforts, and assisting in the preparation of documentation related to restoration projects. The incumbent will work under the guidance of the Project Manager and will be expected to operate with a degree of independence, utilizing their judgment and experience to address routine issues and propose practical solutions. The role requires a proactive approach to monitoring project activities and ensuring compliance with donor requirements and OSCE policies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Assistant will undertake a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: assisting in the implementation of the ExB project throughout its cycle; meeting with relevant stakeholders; designing and implementing action plans; monitoring budget implementation; supporting project documentation for monitoring and reporting; advising the Project Manager on project-related risks; drafting various reports including activity, technical, and progress reports; contributing to the development of knowledge products and publications; planning and organizing events and activities; coordinating administrative arrangements; undertaking field trips to provide logistical support; and supporting communication efforts to enhance project visibility. The role demands a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education, supplemented by specialized training or formal studies in relevant fields such as project management, social or political science, international affairs, or cultural heritage. A minimum of five years of relevant working experience with governmental, inter-governmental, or civil society organizations is required, particularly in projects related to cultural heritage. Candidates should possess established knowledge of the cultural heritage environment in Kosovo, experience in preservation and management of cultural heritage, and familiarity with project cycle management. Administrative and logistics experience is essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft applications and excellent communication skills in English and at least one local language.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), with additional specialized training or formal studies in project management, social or political science, international affairs, or cultural heritage being highly desirable. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of cultural heritage projects and the socio-political context in which they operate.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in supporting projects and activities, particularly those related to cultural heritage. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with governmental, inter-governmental, or civil society organizations, demonstrating their ability to manage project cycles and support monitoring and evaluation processes effectively. Experience in cultural heritage preservation and administrative/logistics support during project implementation is also essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, along with proficiency in at least one local language. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for effectively conveying project information and engaging with stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The position is a short-term contracted role at the G5 level within the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, with a full-time schedule. The monthly remuneration is set at 1,084.00 Euro, subject to social security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security deductions. Social benefits include participation in the OSCE Group Insurance Plan and the OSCE Provident Fund. The OSCE retains the discretion to re-advertise the vacancy or offer an appointment at a lower grade based on the candidate's qualifications.
