Job Overview:
The Driver position is integral to the operations of the Resident Office (RO) team at the EBRD. The primary function of this role is to provide safe and efficient transportation for authorized personnel, primarily within Pristina but also to other locations within Kosovo and occasionally to neighboring countries. The Driver will be responsible for ensuring that the official vehicle is maintained in a roadworthy condition and is equipped with all necessary safety equipment. Additionally, the Driver may be required to provide clerical support, which includes tasks such as delivering and collecting mail, answering phones, and recording business transactions. This role demands a high level of professionalism and adherence to safety protocols, as well as a commitment to the EBRD's values and operational guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver will be accountable for the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Safely and punctually transport authorized personnel to and from airports, transport hubs, meetings, and appointments for official purposes.
  • Operate the official vehicle safely under all local conditions, employing defensive driving techniques.
  • Adhere strictly to the EBRD's Code of Conduct, Driver Rules of Conduct, and Travel Safety Mandatory Procedures.
  • Comply with local laws and speed limits, ensuring that all passengers wear seat belts at all times.
  • Never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs and refrain from using mobile phones while driving, except with a hands-free kit.
  • Follow United Nations Department for security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security and Safety (UNDSS) procedures for route planning and avoidance of restricted areas.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a clean and safe working condition before departures and upon return, and that it contains all necessary equipment, including a first aid kit and spare tire.
  • Provide clerical support as needed, including the delivery and collection of documents and answering phones.
  • Maintain accurate records of transport logs, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance. 1
  • Ensure the vehicle maintains valid registration, insurance, and any other required tests. 1
  • Maintain a professional appearance and identify alternative routes when necessary. 1
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly vehicle checks as directed.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Driver position should possess the following qualifications:
  • A valid driving license and a proven capability in defensive driving.
  • Professional driving experience with a clean driving record.
  • Thorough knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
  • Familiarity with the city’s roads and willingness to drive throughout Kosovo and occasionally to neighboring countries.
  • An Advanced Driving Training Certificate is preferable.
  • Basic skills in minor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Proficiency in English and the local language, both verbal and written.
  • Secondary school education is required.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed secondary school education. This educational background is essential for understanding the responsibilities associated with the role and for effective communication in both English and the local language.

Experience:
Candidates should have professional driving experience, ideally with a safe driving record. Experience in a similar role within an international organization or a governmental agency would be advantageous, as it demonstrates familiarity with the expectations and standards required in such environments.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of the EBRD. Additionally, the ability to communicate effectively in the local language is essential for interacting with local authorities and clients.

This position is a fixed-term contract lasting for 2 years. The EBRD promotes a flexible working environment, expecting employees to work in the office 50% of their time.
