Job Overview:
The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating the implementation of the work plan for EpiC’s malaria activities in Cambodia. This position involves comprehensive planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement to support the malaria program's objectives. The Project Manager will provide strategic oversight to ensure that malaria-related efforts align with the elimination goals and the prevention of re-establishment of malaria transmission. This role requires close collaboration with the Government of Cambodia, the U.S. Department of State, and various partners to ensure effective contributions to malaria surveillance and response. The Project Manager will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluation, financial and technical reporting, and managing any malaria subawards, serving as a key liaison among local and international stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager's duties encompass a wide range of responsibilities, including managing and overseeing the development of projects from initiation to completion. This includes capacity-building for project staff, developing project management plans, providing guidance and monitoring to ensure clarity on project plans, and fostering effective teamwork. The Project Manager will define project scope, goals, and deliverables, develop project plans and documentation, and identify and resolve project issues. Regular evaluation of project progress is essential, as is building and nurturing partnerships critical to project success. The role also involves managing operational and tactical aspects of multiple projects, overseeing budgets, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. Additionally, the Project Manager will establish communication schedules, determine resource requirements, execute projects according to work plans, and prepare financial reports for funders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a Master’s degree (or higher) in public health, international development, or a related field, with a preferred focus on infectious disease and global health security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security. They should have at least 7-10 years of experience managing infectious disease and/or malaria activities in Cambodia, along with strong knowledge of the Cambodian health system. Demonstrated interpersonal skills in facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and coordination are essential, as is familiarity with U.S. Government management and programming. Knowledge of operationalizing guidelines and procedures, as well as experience in the government sector, is also required. Candidates should have well-developed written and oral communication skills and an understanding of different donor requirements.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree or higher in public health, international development, or a related field. A focus on infectious disease and global health security is preferred, indicating a strong foundation in the relevant areas necessary for effective project management in the context of malaria activities.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in managing infectious disease and/or malaria activities, particularly within the Cambodian context. This experience should include a strong understanding of the Cambodian health system and demonstrated skills in project management, stakeholder engagement, and coordination with various partners.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Khmer is considered an asset, enhancing the ability to engage with local stakeholders and communities effectively.

Additional Notes:
This position may require travel of approximately 10% to 25%. The role is full-time and involves managing both local and international stakeholders.
