Job Overview:
The Programme Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the Programme Team at UN Women Haiti by assisting in the development and implementation of effective programs in line with UN Women’s rules and regulations. This position involves a variety of tasks including research, financial management, and program implementation. The Programme Associate is responsible for providing operational, administrative, and programmatic support, ensuring that the team can effectively manage and execute their projects. The role requires close collaboration with various personnel within the country office and UN Women’s regional and headquarters offices to resolve complex finance-related issues and facilitate the exchange of information. The Programme Associate is expected to contribute to the overall mission of UN Women by ensuring that programs are well-supported and aligned with the organization's strategic goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for program formulation and management, including preparing work plans, budgets, and proposals.
  • Offer technical guidance on routine delivery and reporting of program activities and finances.
  • Prepare for audits and implement recommendations, review program data for the CO website, and compile information for documents and guidelines.
  • Support financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, preparing budget revisions, and monitoring program finances.
  • Undertake logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and events, including travel arrangements for the Programme Team.
  • Assist in resource mobilization efforts by preparing agreements and organizing information from donors.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing by supporting the synthesis of lessons learned and organizing training for office personnel and partners.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have a minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or program management/support. Experience in a computer environment using multiple office software packages is required, along with experience in supporting a team. Familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable. Strong financial and budgeting skills, as well as the ability to manage data and documents effectively, are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
Completion of secondary education is required, while a Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration is desirable. This educational background supports the administrative and programmatic functions of the position, ensuring that the Programme Associate can effectively contribute to the team's objectives.

Experience:
The position requires at least 7 years of relevant experience in administration or program management/support. This level of experience is necessary to ensure that the Programme Associate can handle the complexities of program implementation and financial management effectively. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in a team environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Languages:
Fluency in French and Haitian Créole is required for this position, as these are the primary languages used in the local context. Fluency in English is also desirable, as it facilitates communication with international stakeholders and aligns with UN Women’s global operations.
