Job Overview:
The position of Individual Consultancy-Communication Analyst is designed to enhance the visibility of UNDP's work and thought leadership in development policy discussions and platforms. The consultant will be responsible for supporting both internal and external communications strategies, ensuring that UNDP's initiatives and contributions are effectively communicated to stakeholders. This role involves collaborating with various teams within UNDP to gather information, create content, and disseminate messages that align with the organization's goals. The consultant will also engage with external partners and platforms to promote UNDP's work, particularly in Norway, and will be expected to contribute to the development of communication materials that highlight the impact of UNDP's projects and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Individual Consultancy-Communication Analyst include but are not limited to:
  • Developing and implementing communication strategies that enhance the visibility of UNDP's work.
  • Creating high-quality content for various communication channels, including reports, articles, social media, and presentations.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to gather information and insights about UNDP's projects and initiatives.
  • Engaging with external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and the media, to promote UNDP's work.
  • Monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of communication efforts and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Supporting the organization of events and forums to showcase UNDP's contributions to development policy discussions.
  • Ensuring that all communication materials adhere to UNDP's branding and messaging guidelines.
  • Providing training and support to UNDP staff on communication best practices.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Individual Consultancy-Communication Analyst position must possess the following qualifications:
  • Proven experience in communication, public relations, or a related field, preferably within an international organization or development context.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear and compelling content for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms, including social media, websites, and content management systems.
  • Knowledge of development issues and UNDP's work is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Individual Consultancy-Communication Analyst position includes:
  • A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, international relations, or a related field.
  • A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in communication or public relations. Languages:

  • It is a full-time role, and the consultant will be expected to work remotely or from UNDP's headquarters in the United States, depending on the circumstances.
